Yesstyle Haul 2016: Cosmetics

I'm back!!!! It feels like forever since I've last posted here. I was a bit busy being lazy lol so I kinda neglected this blog. *Gomen gomen*

And oh, I sincerely apologize for late replies to comments. To be honest, I was like "Whoa! Someone finally responded!" Haha! Thank you, I highly appreciate it. I'll be looking forward to all your questions/feedbacks from now on!

Anyway, today's haul is about Korean cosmetics (or most of it). Don't expect a comprehensive review though. Like the usual, it's mostly pictures and descriptions.

Shade #21

This is my default BB cream brand. Our nearest Asian cosmetics shop have stopped supplying Korean cosmetics so I'm glad to find this in Yesstyle.

Why I like it:

- Unlike other BB creams, Missha has several shades that suits different skin tones. I'm a bit fair so #21 fits me. I've also tried #23 before. It's a bit darker for my complexion but it looks natural on me during summer.

- It's creamy. Perfect for dry skin,

- It has a dewy finish. (It looks more natural than matte)

Cons:

- It doesn't cover as well as a foundation. (For example, if you have freckles, the BB cream will only lighten it, not totally hide it)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I bought this out of curiosity. I can't really tell if it moisturizes my face. It's not like cream which leaves a slippery feel on your face.

To be honest, I feel 'icky' using this. It's like a hair gel which  feels cool on the skin but a bit sticky and watery... and it leaves the sticky-ness on my hands for a short while. And for a few minutes I have to endure that sticky-icky feeling before it dries out.

For some weird reason, my lip tint or bb cream doesn't blend well after I apply this. It's like this moisturizer leaves an invisible mask on my face.

I probably won't buy this again. I'll go back to my usual Cetaphil, I guess.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why I like it:

- It has a creamy texture

- It fits my skin tone  (I picked Natural Beige).

- Unlike other concealers, this one doesn't crease at all and I love it!

- It  decently lightens my freckles, red spots or pimples

Cons:

- It's not good in covering dark under eye circles.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It looks like marshmallow at first glance (^O^)

Why I like it:

- It's cute and it's pink

Cons:
-  I realized that I could have bought a pack of sponges for 2.50 dollars in Daiso compared to 5 dollars just for a single piece. (Jeez I'm really a sucker for pink cute stuff. argh!)

----------------------------------------------------

I already used it, hence the brownish color on the brushes. lol

One use and it's broken....

Why I like it:

- It's cute and it's pink

Cons:
- Not durable. One brush has already detached from its body. I need to use sticky tapes to reattach it. (*sigh* when will I learn)

Seriously guys, it's a real cheapo. It's not worth it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Why I like it:

- It's cheap.

- It doesn't smudge!!!

- Nice color (French Latte)

Cons:

- No built -in sharpener. (And you need one)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why I like it:

- It has a creamy texture and blends well with my skin

It does the work. Nothing to complain, really.

----------------------------------------------------

Overall, I like the products though I should think twice before buying any pink or cute stuff ... especially if there's a cheaper or much better alternative. LOL

My experience with Cure Natural Aqua Gel

Cure Natural Aqua Gel is a popular exfoliant in Japan and I've seen many Beauty Gurus recommending this product. There's still a debate whether the grainy stuff that appears when you rub the gel on the skin is real dead skin cells .... or just a tricky ingredient from the said exfoliant.

However, being the skeptic me, I bought one to try it myself. I know many Youtube gurus have made demonstrations on how this thing works, but I'm still not that convinced because most of them have clear looking skin.

On the other hand, I have a real problem with dry skin patches on my face and the only solution to remove it is through exfoliation. My main frustration is the side of my nose because when I apply makeup, the dryness becomes more obvious and it looks really horrible.

Applying moisturiser seems to help but only temporarily. I normally use St. Ives to exfoliate but it only irritates my face and even cause breakout. Not to mention that it takes very hard rubbing to remove the stubborn dry skin at the side of my nose... which is not even very effective at all. Actually, rough rubbing makes it worse.

So if you want to see a perfect Guinea pig for this, it is no other than ME.

And I am telling you now that THIS. THING. DOES.WORK!

I'll simply show it to you with my images.

It has a gel-liquid consistency

This has been my constant battle. It doesn't clear easily even after using a loofah or  usual exfoliant

Applying the gel...

After several seconds, I started rubbing the dry area. See how the dry patches effectively removed.
What you see is real skin!

Result: Minimal flakiness left which is really only visible when zoomed in. Putting moisturiser fixes it.

What made me really convinced that this thing is legit is that the dead skin cells were easily removed by just gentle rubbing of hand. Normally, I use a loofah because the exfoliant beads are not enough to remove them.

They say it's a gentle exfoliant. I do agree but I still don't recommend it be applied several times in a day. I've done it one time and it left my exfoliated area a bit tingly. Actually, we should only exfoliate like once or twice a week. I have dry skin so once a week is enough for me.

Oh and don't forget to use moisturizers after.

Now, if you have a very stubborn dry patches that keeps coming back... there's a possibility that you have dermatitis and simple exfoliation will only give it a temporary solution. Better go to derma or apply antifungal cream.

----------------
So for those in doubt I hope this post convinces you. Yep, it's a bit expensive but you don't really need much to exfoliate your face. Afterall, you don't use this thing regularly only when you need exfoliation.

Yesstyle Haul 2016: Tops II

Hey hey! I'm back! And today's haul is really exciting because I bought plenty of new tops.

I'm very surprised that most of them are spot on true to what's shown in the pictures. I don't know if I'm just lucky or they assure that you get the legit stuff if  you've spent atleast  a hundred of their products.  I mean, it did say that the they came from different suppliers right? Ok it's just me being paranoid. Alright.... enough. Let's staaaaaa-tttttooooo!

I've been seeing this in the popular category for a long time but I kept hesitating. I was afraid it'll be like the previous clothes I've bought which are popular and  have consistent high star reviews only to get disappointed when I see them in the actual.

However, this one is super legit--- right color--- right type of fabric--- right size--- right style ---everything! Obviously, I'm impressed.

I was afraid it will be the T-shirt type of fabric again but it's not!

Here's another one from popular category that does not disappoint. I chose the dark red and it looks really pretty. As you can see I am quite short (4'11.5 ft/151 cm) so it kinda look like a dress on me lol. Still cute though tee-hee.

The top is made of soft wooly fabric.

The slipdress

Another Fairyland bestseller. It's really cute but I've skipped buying it because I wasn't sure if suspenders would look good on me .... or it might look too childish on me. Anyway I read from the reviews that it is detachable so I finally bought it.

The shirt is really soft and flowy but a bit sheer. Like if you wear a dark bra, you will kinda see the outline from the outside.

I'm still not sure about the suspenders though. lol

The colour is Coffee Brown indeed. I was afraid it's orange-y like what I've read from the Yesstyle comments. I'm also glad that it is boxy but not too big. The fitting looks perfectly the same as the girl in the ad.

Cons: It still smells like mothballs at the moment. The buttons are a bit loose like it can pull out any moment in the washer.

Its warm fabric is perfect for cold days like Winter

I just realized that this is another Oaksa brand. Style-wise it seems similar to what's shown in the ad. However, the color is a big disappointment. It is supposed to be dark grey not light grey. If I've only known, I should've chosen black instead. Oh well, it fits ok so I'll still wear it.

I really like the style. It has the right bagginess but the strap seems a bit loose. One side keeps sliding down my arms. I'm not sure if it's because I'm narrow shouldered or maybe it's a little big for me.

Note: You can see two thin straps, the other one is actually my bra so don't mistaken it for double straps tee-hee.

Is it just too big or what?

Saving the best for last lol. At first, I thought this sweater is too big and boxy for me. Eventually, I realized that it doesn't really look bad. It actually looks cute and it even matches my Nike shoes haha.

What I love most is how sooooooooft and cottony this sweater is. It is super good quality for its price. It's something like I'm gonna get from Sportsgirl except it's not worth 80 aud but 26! Like wow!

Warm fabric for cold season

----------------------------------------------------
Over all I'm very happy with the purchase. There were some  flaws but it's not something major that will make me stop wearing them or will make me feel like I've been cheated or I've wasted money.

Ok then, until next Yesstyle Haul! :D

Yessytle Haul 2016: Tops

I'll make this quick and simple. Not much blah blah stuff, just pictures and short descriptions.

So I bought 3 tops and 1 dress-set from Yesstyle. It was a half yay and half nay for me. I'll show you why.

I've been skipping buying this coz the ad only shows the blouse. I don't know what it looks like when it is actually worn. However, because they sold this for 80% off, I finally decided to go for it. It only cost 9.48 aud so why not.

This top is popular in Yesstyle. I can see why they find it cute but unfortunately it's too big on my 4'11 petite frame.

The fabric is a bit starchy-stiff but maybe it'll be softer after washing. However, based from Yesstyle comment, they're worried about the painted-stripes as it could fade eventually. I don't really know. Personally, I think the prints would stay but maybe by gentle washing only.

And take note that the front is short. I'm not tall but when I raise my hand my tummy shows. I think this will be an exposed-tummy top for tall people (Even average-size I think)

Anyway, I just decided to use this as houseclothes. Tee-hee.

This is another top that I was doubting to buy. It looks cute on the model but might be a fail when you wear it. I mean, design-wise, I'm not really fond of green but the top looks so cute I just couldn't help myself but buy it.

Anyway, this was also on sale so I just paid 12.30 aud.

It looks almost identical to the Yesstyle ad except the fabric is waaaaay different. The difference wasn't too bad but seriously? False advertisement much?

In the Yesstyle image, it looks like it's made of soft cottony fabric. It actually show the cottony threads in the close-up picture.

However, in person, the fabric is really smooth, stretchable, polyester-ish type.

The color is not right as well. In the ad, it looks pine green. In person, it looks pear green which I probably wouldn't buy if I see it in the shop stalls.

Anyway, it seems ok on me so this will pass as outdoor clothes.

This one is a huge disappointment. I don't know if it's the blouse or it's me that is wrong here. Haha

Side-view looks ok. I actually find it appealing. However, front view is a disaster! (T-T)

I looks so shapeless here! And if you'll compare it from the Yesstyle ad, the shoulder cut should be bigger. This one looks like it's half-made. The strap should look thinner than this. I'll probably just wear it under a coat or jacket as extra layering for winter.

I'm glad I bought this on sale so I only paid 10.81 aud for this.

I think this is the most accurate outfit I've ever bought in Yesstyle. It is so cute and perfect, I'm so excited to wear this!

I'm so happy with this purchase. I bought it for 19.58 aud. It's a very good deal for its price. I wonder why it only has 4 reviews despite its almost 100 percent star rating.

-----------------------
Like the usual, buying from Yesstyle is tricky. It's either a win, a lose, or a meeeeeeeh. lol

Yesstyle haul 2016 - Rocho - Set: Long-Sleeved Bow-Accent Cardigan + Heart Print Knit Tank Top

Look! I've put the entire description of this product from Yesstyle hoping that other consumers might see this review.

Seriously, I wish Yesstyle has an option where other consumers can share a pic of their purchases, similar to Amazon.com and Aliexpress.

Apparently I've purchased another clothing as written in the title post.

As you noticed, I'm pretty disorganized with my flow of thoughts today. Anyway, I'll just show you the real life pic ok?

------------------------------------------

So here's the ad....

And here's what I've bought....

In this picture, the clothes look shapeless and boxier on me. It doesn't look that bad in the actual.

However, in contrary to what's shown in the ad, the pullover's neck line is not really that low which makes the tank top strap almost hidden.

I also noticed that in the ad, the sleeve-cut ends at the elbow part. In the actual, it ends at the shoulder.

But I think the back side is really cute, especially with these ribbons.

Another angle....

Also take note, the pullover in the ad seems it's made from a soft thin cottony fabric.

On the actual, it's more like a T-shirt type of fabric.

Suprisingly, I think the tank top alone is wonderful.

In general, the top set is just ok. There are some inconsistencies but I think the over-all look is still cute. I just wish they made the neck line lower like in the ad so it would look more flattering in the front side.

Just a tip: I'm normally an XXS-XS or size 6-8 in Australia but I picked the Large against the Medium  for a baggier look (same as the model in the ad).

Yesstyle haul 2016 - accessories

You think I would stop from my first Yesstyle shopping experience. But no. Even before I received those stuff, the next purchase was already on its way. How can I resist when it shows SALE on their cute accessories. And if there's one thing I'm a huge sucker of, it's anything cute and-- kitties --- and pink LOL! But hey, I just didn't pink any random things there. I bought something that I can really use. So there.

----------------

Let's be organized and start with my haul list (click to see the ad).

1. Stainless Steel 3-Way Bookmark [Carousel - 15cm]

2. Bow Accent Print Sanitary Pad Pouch [12 - One Size]

3. Bag Organizer [Wine Red - One Size]

4. Eyeglasses Tweezer Cleaner [Color Chosen at Random - One Size]

5. Bow Print Mask [Random - One Size]

6. Hair Bun Maker [As Figure Shown - Large]

7. Cartoon Earphone Case [Girl - Pink - One Size]

8. Print Card Holder [Pink - One Size]

9. Lint Remover [Black - One Size]

10. Sink Silicone Hanging Basket [Fuchsia - One Size]

 -------------

1. Stainless Steel 3-Way Bookmark [Carousel - 15cm]

Review: Cute design. It's made of metal but it's so thin it can bend. Not really fond of the type of string they used. Wish they chose some fancier ribbon. It's not really ideal for a ruler but for a bookmark it's ok. It costs me 2.95 aud. Not bad.

Tip: There's 2 sizes, the 10 cm and 15 cm. Choose the latter. The 15 cm is like the size of a typical ruler. Hence, 10 cm would look smaller... and you wouldn't want that.

2. Bow Accent Print Sanitary Pad Pouch

Review: I immediately fell in love with this. There's many style to choose from but I'm glad I picked this particular design. It looks cute and classy, not too pinky-girly-flowery like the others. *Tee-hee*.

This is such a good deal for 3.92 aud. My fave purchase from this haul. :D

Review: It's pretty. The color is same from the ad. Looks true to its purpose as having many compartments and roomy. However, it's a bit small than I expected (I didn't exactly took note of its dimension) .

Just to give you an idea, it's only a little bit bigger than your typical book. But they won't fit inside unless it's a pocketbook.

Despite the size, it is still a very useful organizer.

Plenty space to fill. Yey!

Tip: I got this for 5.95 aud but you can buy this for a dollar cheaper from eBay.

4. Eyeglasses Tweezer Cleaner

Review: Can't really say much about this product. I tried it. It does seem to clean my glasses. Too bad I can't pick a color. I would've preferred a green or a blue but white is not bad too so it's no biggie. I got this for 3.92 aud which is a bit costly compared to 1-2 aud on Ebay.

5. Bow Print Mask

Review: It's like an underwear... for your face LOL.

I don't really intend to wear this in public... just a face cover when I'm cleaning the house. I got this for 3.92 aud.

Review: I have owned something  like this when I was a kid. It's really useful and easy to use. It's technically a flexible  wire covered with cloth.

However, this one seems to be made of cheap wire. It does make a bun but it doesn't hold my hair as tight as I want it to be. I bought the large size but it still feels small. It's hard to roll my hair with this thing.

The one I've used in the past can make a big and strong bun with my long hair.

I paid 3.92 aud for this. Oh well... atleast it's cheap and it works--- not just that efficient.

 7. Cartoon Earphone Case [Girl - Pink ]

Review: A cute storage for my earphones. The only drawback is it's prone to scratches.

It's already scratched out actually.

Opening the zipper can be difficult. I'm afraid it's prone to breakage too.

I got this for 3.92 aud. Meh....not too bad.

8. Print Card Holder [Pink]

Review: What can I say... it's a simple and cute pink cardholder. The envelopes are made of thick plastic which can hold 2 cards per film/sheet/leaf (I don't really know the right term for that lol).

However, I can't say the envelopes are thoroughly secure. They're not loose but the cards have the potential to fall. I tried shaking the cardholder to test it. Most of the time the cards stay in place but a few times 1-2 cards fall.

I paid 4.72 aud for this. Can be cheaper I guess.

9. Lint Remover [Black]

Review: I probably didn't look at the ad images very well coz I didn't expect it to be this thick lol. Not that it's an issue. I just find it comical for some reason. If I'm not using it to remove lint, I can use it for ping-pong or to hammer people's head lol lol.

I bought this for 7.92 aud and it's only like 2.50 aud on Ebay so it's waaaay overpriced.

10. Sink Silicone Hanging Basket [Fuchsia]

Review:  I love it. This one will really be useful for our sink. It cost me 3.92 aud.

-----------------

Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I know I could get most of them cheaper in Ebay but the difference is not really that biiiig (oh except for the lint brush).

Anyway, I hope this blog is useful for online shoppers out there. You know it's easier to decide and weigh things when you at least have an idea what these stuff look like in 'real life' LOL. Thankfully, most of them are true to what the ad shows.

PS. I'm sure you guys notice that my grammar and style of writing is kinda rough. You see English is not my native language  --- and also because I don't really care haha. (I mean, you guys still understand me, right? Right? :P)
